Hello,

my name is mostly_harmless. I am a Geocacher from Germany.

In my home zone I have a mystery cache that shows 4 Czech wooden Geocoins.

I found this online catalogue, https://cwg.gcm.cz

My idea is to find those four coins (the names on the top of each coin are erased). Then I guess the final coordinates can be calculated by the catalogue number.

 

The problem I have is, that there are ~60,000 Czech wooden coins as of today. I am not going to search through all of them.

The mystery cache was hidden in 2013. I guess back then there were a lot less coins.

 

I have not found a way to filter the database by "date registered". My thinking is, that if I narrow it down to coins that were registered in 2013 or earlier, the number of coins should go down significantly.

 

Do you know if there is an alternative search tool for these coins?

What you have probably already tried is to search for user "Virtualboy" in the CWG catalogue. Then those CWGs would be most likely in his collection. But unfortunately he's not there. Maybe he deleted his account. Me might be no longer active collecting xWGs. Or even geo-active at all.

 

I also don't see a way to filter by "date added" on the webpage.

 

Well then, four obvious steps remain:

 

1. politely ask the CO to give you an advice

2. politely ask geocachers who already found the cache for the same

3. try brute force

4. give up
